Zebra Child Protection Centre
Edmonton’s Zebra Child Protection Centre, the first centre of its kind in Canada, enables the community to respond to child abuse with a professional, compassionate and highly integrated program of healing and justice. The centre integrates a multi-disciplinary community of professionals that allows for streamlined, thorough and expert investigations, interventions, prosecutions and supports. Zebra provides children and their non-offending parents and guardians with social, medical and mental health services and supports.
Edmonton Food Bank
Edmonton Food Bank’s mission is to be stewards in the collection of surplus and donated food for the effective distribution, free of charge, to people in need in the community while seeking solutions to the causes of hunger. Each month, more than 12,000 people receive hampers from Edmonton’s Food Bank or one of the over 160 affiliated agencies, churches, and food depots.
Chain of Love
Chain of Love seeks to provide loving, secure and caring homes for abandoned and abused street children in Brazil. To avoid institutionalization, homes are constructed and staffed with foster parents. Each couple accepts ten children in addition to their own, and agrees to raise them to adulthood and independence. Chain of Love meets the physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs of the children placed in their care. Already more than 150 children in Brazil have been rescued from the streets.
Mustard Seed Edmonton
The Mustard Seed is a Christian humanitarian organization that seeks to address poverty in greater Edmonton by partnering with the wider community to serve needs and develop gifts of people affected by poverty.
